Overtaking other vehicles can be dangerous if not executed safely and correctly. You must over take from the right unless there is another vehicle waiting to turn right, in this instance you can overtake from the left. The procedure for overtaking is:
Do not go over the speed limit to overtake
Make sure the road ahead is clear, safe and that there is enough free space to overtake
check mirrors
Signal for 4 seconds to give other drivers warning of your maneuver
Check your blind spot for other vehicles, motorcycles or other objects
Pass the vehicle you are overtaking with sufficient space to avoid any collision
Give way to any vehicles in the lane you are moving to.
Remember, do not overtake or pass vehicles on pedestrian crossings, T-junctions, intersections and school crossings.
